Palma Nova, alternatively spelt Palmanova, is a relatively new addition to the island's towns, having been established in the mid-20th century. It boasts a contemporary vibe, distinct from many of the older, more traditional towns. Its prime location in the southwest region of Calvia is a significant draw, offering excellent connectivity to key places. Despite its modernity, Palma Nova is known for its trio of splendid beaches: Son Maties, Na Nadala, and Es Carregador.

The beaches offer a variety of summer activities, including water sports, beach volleyball, and children's climbing equipment, all under the watchful eyes of lifeguards. One notable local fiesta in Palma Nova is the "Fiesta del Carmen," which typically takes place in July. This fiesta is a traditional celebration in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patron saint of sailors and fishermen. It's an amazing event, reflecting the town's connection to the sea.
