n April 7, J.Llambias launched its latest collection: a showcase of the creativity and sensitivity of its designer, Jaime Llambias. With a philosophy that combines sustainability, craftsmanship, and a deep love for his homeland, Llambias represents a new generation of designers aiming to restore value to textile traditions and offer garments with soul. After years of living in different European cities, Jaime Llambias decided to return to Mallorca to establish his eponymous fashion brand: J.Llambias. With a background in design and a passion for fabrics, his career has been built on authenticity, quality, and the revival of traditional techniques and materials. Returning to Mallorca was a turning point — an act of love for his land and an opportunity to create a project that reflects both his aesthetic and ethical vision.

For Jaime, Mallorca is much more than a place to live: "It means everything to me! The people of the island are deeply rooted in their land, and I think that’s reflected in every one of our creations. It’s hard to explain, but you can feel it. Even for people who have never been to the island." In an interview with View Mallorca, Jaime tells us that from a young age he had a special affinity for the textile world. His fascination with fabrics, patterns, and textures grew over the years, fueled by his experiences in various cities where he absorbed different styles and techniques. But it was upon returning to Mallorca that he found a clear path: fusing local tradition with a modern and sustainable vision, creating unique garments that tell stories and convey emotions.

ecovering antique fabrics is a core identity for Llambias. The brand’s philosophy is based on offering simple but carefully designed garments with well-thought-out patterns and shapes that highlight the natural beauty of the wearer. As the designer explains, "A fundamental part of the brand is the recovery of antique fabrics, found not only in island markets but all over the world." These textiles, often with centuries of history, are transformed into contemporary pieces that keep the legacy of textile tradition alive and add extra value to each creation. This approach reflects not only a deep respect for the past but also a commitment to sustainability by giving new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded. Llambias describes his ideal client as “women with artistic and aesthetic curiosity, who look for garments that are not only beautiful but also carry meaning and a story.” Ultimately, they seek fashion with soul — far beyond fleeting trends.

With mostly artisanal production, Jaime Llambias operates a workshop in Mallorca, where each piece receives attention and care during its creation. However, inspiration and materials also come from beyond the island. Llambias and his team regularly visit antique markets around the world, including India, where they find fabrics and textiles that enrich the collection and bring character and authenticity. "Traveling and collaborating with textile artisans in India allows us to incorporate ancestral techniques and fabrics with great historical and cultural value," he explains. The combination of reclaimed textiles, crafted using traditional methods, with modern patterns results in garments that perfectly balance history and contemporaneity.
