S
ummer in Mallorca means long days and late nights. Evenings spent wandering around, enjoying a drink or maybe a swim. It’s also a time of year when there are a host of small open-air markets set up along boardwalks for the summer months, selling crafts, food and drinks from local vendors. Often open from early evening until after sunset, they are fun and relaxing markets, without the heat of the day - allowing time to chat with the vendors and discover something new. Here is a list of our favourite summer markets in Mallorca and what makes them special.
Sunset Market at Puerto Portals (July 15 – August 13)
Now in its 12th edition, and perhaps the largest and most well-known summer markets, the Sunset Market runs every Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to midnight along the elegant waterfront of Puerto Portals. Over 20 exhibitors showcase design items, accessories, jewellery, sustainable fashion, art, and gastronomy — making it one of the more curated shopping experiences on the island. Live music plays every evening with swing, folk, acoustic or Latin rhythms, while children's activities and creative workshops keep the whole family entertained. The upscale marina setting gives it a distinctly glamorous edge
Summer Evening Market at Puerto de Sóller (Fridays through early September)
Held every Friday from 7pm to 11:30pm in the Plaça de Sa Torre, this seaside market runs through high season from June to September, with local artisans showcasing their creations in a magical, waterfront setting. This market is a more intimate affair, with a strong emphasis on handmade, locally crafted goods. Do some shopping and take a dip and enjoy a drink at Blai Bar or a delicious meal at Campo afterwards. If you're combining it with a day trip, the vintage tram connecting Sóller town to the port makes for a perfectly scenic evening arrival.
